Why the NHS list is short

COVID boosters are now targeted at those most at risk of serious illness. The criteria haven’t changed since last season.

If you’re outside those groups you can still have exactly the same vaccine privately, whenever suits you.

What’s included

One price, one visit.

The variant-matched vaccine

Strain TBC – the current mRNA booster, matched to the strains circulating this season.

The consultation

A pharmacist checks your history and answers your questions before administering it. No GP referral needed.

Any adult, same-day

No eligibility rules at all. Book online for a guaranteed slot at Botley, Headington, Summertown or Deddington.

Flu in the same visit

Add the private flu jab (£25) and pay £119 for both instead of £124 – one in each arm.

Aged 75+, in a care home, or immunosuppressed?

The NHS funds your COVID-19 booster - same vaccine, no charge. We give NHS boosters at all four branches.

Worth knowing

Before you book.

Why boost at all?

Protection from a previous dose or infection fades over roughly 4–6 months. A booster tops it back up, especially against severe illness.

When can I have it?

At least three months after your last COVID vaccine or confirmed infection. Autumn is ideal, ahead of the winter wave.

Which vaccine?

Comirnaty LP.8.1: the current variant-matched mRNA vaccine, matched to the strains circulating this season.

Side effects?

Usually a sore arm and mild tiredness for a day. Serious reactions are rare; the pharmacist stays with you and every branch is equipped.

Two jabs, one visit

Having a flu jab too? Save £5.

Flu (£25) and COVID-19 (£99) can be given in the same appointment, one in each arm. Book them together and pay £119 for both.
