MediPill’s pharmacists may discuss MHRA-licensed prescription treatments with eligible patients during the consultation. Treatment decisions are made together, based on your health profile, medical history and goals. These now include a once-daily tablet as well as weekly injections – a needle-free option, assessed in exactly the same way.

A pharmacist reviews your answers within one working day. If you’re clinically eligible, we call you to discuss next steps.

- Questions

Things patients ask first.

Adults aged 18+ with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27+ with a weight-related condition such as type 2 diabetes, sleep apnoea or high blood pressure. Pregnancy, breastfeeding and a small number of medical conditions rule out treatment. The pre-screening form covers all of this and a pharmacist reviews every submission.
Most patients stay on the programme for 12–24 months to reach a stable target weight and form sustainable habits. We talk through a step-down plan together when you’re close to your goal.
NHS access for weight-management treatment is currently limited and gated through tier-3 specialist clinics with long waits. Private clinical consultation through MediPill gives same-day decisions after your initial 45-minute consult. Cost is the consultation plus any prescribed treatment – no subscription.
Scheduled weight-management clinics run at all four of our Oxford branches: Botley, Headington, Summertown and Deddington. Pharmacist availability varies; we’ll match you to the most convenient slot when we call after your pre-screening.
Pharmacist-led weight management is clinical care, not a subscription. Collect your medicine in person from the MediPill branch you choose. Have photo ID, bathroom scales and a tape measure ready for the call.
