Nausea, breast tenderness, mood changes and bloating are the most common. They’re usually mild and stop when the medication stops.
Norethisterone is generally safe for short-term use. It isn’t suitable if you are pregnant, have certain blood-clotting conditions, or take some other medications — your pharmacist checks all of this at the consultation.
Same-day appointments are usually available, but it’s best to allow a few days before your trip or event so you can start the medication in good time — three days before your period is due.
